Hey guys, fairly new to the forums so sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I was thinking of moving to M territory eventually as my 325 is fun but could use a manual and a bit more umph!
Now, in reality ill most likely end up with a us-spec e36. I like that classic styling more so than the e46 and anything else is a bit too pricy. A euro-spec however would be a dream come true. So hypothetically, and i emphasize hypothetically, how feasible/ethical would it be to buy a trashed/cheap us-spec m3, go on vacation in mexico and switch out dashboards (and thus vin#) with a similarly colored euro-spec? With so much traffic going through El Paso I highly doubt they would check much else besides the main vin tag. They'll probably spend more time checking for drugs which i know i don't have to worry about. This would be a cheap alternative to importing and legalizing and by the mid 2020's it would be legal anyways. And those individual throttle bodies are oh so sexy. With that i leave it up for discussion.
