So, Olek, are you still alive??????????????????????
Are you still coming out this way?????????????????????
What's all happening with this 5er meet????????????????

People will be hungry, thirsty and ready for something.

"I" know there will be a winery tour, wine tasting and special pricing on wine purchases, but what about food and drinks, water, soda etc.......?

525iT_Feen
06-17-2004, 10:55 PM
I'm so very sorry guys. I am extremely sorry for my negligence of further organization of the meets. I've been very busy with finishing school and haven't had much time.

I will still be there with Skipper, and most likely a larger group of friends.

I believe we are filming this meet for further video use, and for a short video of all attending cars. (still in the works)

Time and date still stands and now that 2mrw is my last day I will be happy to do my best in organizing the perfect meet.
---------------------------------------
Since I do not know the area very well, and have no idea where to go eat I can't suggest anything. However we were planning on going on a drive afterwards, and figured we would eat along the way.

I would appreciate suggestions on where to drive and eat.

Attendees should bring:
1) Channel changing walkie talkies.
2) Lot's of water, or other drinks.
3) Snacks.
4) Tools.
5) Spare parts if needed.
6) Whatever other necessities are needed.
7) Video or Photo cameras
8) Spare batteries
*feel free to add anything*

We will not allow:
1) Car's other then 5 series BMW's. (with a few exceptions, such as Greg's son if he attends)
2) Opened alcohol. (what you bring or buy is NONE of my business, but if I, or anyone else in attendance sees an opened alcoholic beverage you will be asked to leave.
3) Drug's of any sort. (Not prescription drugs of course)
4) Loud, obnoxious, or rude behavior. (we are being offered a place to hold our meet, and any disrespect or damage towards Keith, his wife, the winery, or any other attendees will not be aloud. If someone does something stupid I am NOT going to hold Keith or anyone else back from beating your a**.)
*feel free to add anything*

-To those of you who read the rules set above and laughed, please be aware that if what you do upsets everyone there and is illegal I will call the police.
-----------------------------------------------
Keith, or anyone else, if you would like my cell phone number PM or email me and I will gladly give it to you.

Once again I am very sorry, and hope I haven’t caused any issues with summer plans.

Keith

Okay Olek, here's the dealio!

My wife will have sodas for people to purchase if they choose and I will go to Costco and buy a couple cases of water and sell them (for what I paid, no markup) and she has "somewhat" connections at Subway for those 3 foot sandwiches ( that could be cut up) turkey, ham and so on.
My wife orders these all the time for her staff when they have events out there, they're quite yummy!
I just don't have the money to buy them, then hope I get paid back!

Another alternative (and it's awesome, the food is great) is Stoney Ridge Winery down the road about 1/4 of a mile, this will cost more than getting the Subway thing, but "I" think it's worth it!
This place is "very" popular, so I think it would be wise to do this before the noon hour (lunchtime) or after.

Also, a couple things have come up recently, fellow Bay Bimmerz members, Erik & Gordon have opened a shop and they talked about doing a Dyno Day in conjunction with the 5er meet.
Soooo, we could do a reasonable drive, then head over and get dynoed! :alright

These are all suggestions, so sound off about what you think? :help

I love the idea of a dyno meet after the meet, so if possible let's call that a go.

Your idea for subway was very good, but "I" feel that it would be to much work for us to organize the right amount of food being purchased. If enough people agree then I am down to go get food at the winery down the road before noon. We can say that the meet will be from 10-11 or 1130 and then we will go eat.

The soda idea is only neccasary if you and your family will drink the left over soda. I don't want you wasting money just to have alot left over. (I for one know that I will be buying sodas from you.:))

Most of all, I am excited about going to Edge. I am assuming it would become open to all cars at this point of the day?

liquidtiger720

Sorry guys, I've been gone for a few days.
Now I will focus on the 5er meet details and find out what's going on with the Dyno Event after our get together and drive.
I will post what's happening with that soon.

Hey Jay, have you talked to Erik?

Oh, another thing, how many "people" do you think we will have for lunch, my wife can call Stoney Ridge Winery and set up reservations, but we need to get an idea on how many people.
I know what the registry page says as far as cars, but I'm curious how many "people" we should tell them.
They can set us up in the back, outside where we can all sit together. :alright

My car pic.

What do you all think of Electric Red? Very rare on e39's, less than 1 in 100 e39's were this shade of red.

Not down with my vintage plate? Ahh schucks.. Most people dig it fully because they are so unique, especially a personalized blue plate. I've had this plate on every car I've owned (except wife's cars) goin' back 2 decades. 1969 Fairlane Hotrod; 1974 VW Beetle; 1986 BMW e30; 1994 Toyota 4x4; present e39..........next, who knows. I'll never trade that plate in.

I just read through everything on the registry site and it doesn't look like we have to register for the lunch.

Keith
07-14-2004, 03:40 PM
Nope, no need to register for lunch, but I will have the menu there so that we can call ahead with everyones order and it will be pretty close to being ready when we get there.
But, you know what would be nice, if there was some way to get a count of how many "people" are coming, so I can give Stony Ridge a more acurate head count for lunch. (so that they can set up)
I have to call the Thursday before with this info.
Brian and Olek, since you guys have the email address's, can you email "everyone" and ask how many "people" are attending lunch?
If you want, they can email/respond back to me with a head count.

Thanks, Keith

Okay guys, I wasn't planning on doing this, but so many people inquire about these two things, I made a couple calls.

1) Mike Rascon from Pro-Finish Motorsports Ltd. is coming out to show his '00 White 528iT with the Clear Bra installed.
Check out his website: www.pro-finish.com
He will hook us up if anyone is interested, he's located in Pleasanton :buttrock

2) I'm waiting to here back (by tomorrow) from Matt Britton @ Rocky Mountain Windowtint.
He's the best in the buisness, so I asked him to come out and talk to everyone.
He will be opening a "new" shop Sept. 1 and we talked about doing a Grand Opening Event for Bay Bimmerz Members at that time.

Sooo, there it is, hopefully someone is interested in these two things and can get the hook up. :alright :redspot

Anywho, I'm from Scotts Valley (near Santa Cruz) and I would be willing to make a drive down to Monterey if needed. Problem is that I will most likely be unable to drive back to wherever after the meet, as I may need to return here to Scotts Valley around 5:30.

Did Peter ever email you, he emailed me and told me he won't be in Scotts Valley, he will be coming from Walnut Creek.

Yeah, that would cool of you David, but it seems he can't even get to Monterey now, I guess CJ did go home?

Well, if Olek sees this, he will see that we are doing our best to help him out, now he just needs to get up here.
I think the best thing is for him to get to San Jose from AG (by Greyhound) and Greg can pick him up in San Jose.

I sooo would ride greyhound, but I only have $50 bucks left till august 5th and can't afford to go both ways. I was going to help out with gas if someone made it down here, if not thats cool.

If everything works out with Greg and he makes it down here then that would be wonderful. If not, then thats OK too.

I don't have any way of getting up, unless someone manages to give me a ride. Once I get up to Monterey, getting around won't be an issue.

My cell number is 617-224-8453 if anyone needs to speak with me.

David, thanks for the help, and it is MUCH appreciated but I wouldn't feel very comfortable riding with someone I have never spoken to and don't know. No offense, I just wouldn't feel right. :dunno

Haha, I completely understand. I'm 18, and I'm going to be going up with another of my 18 year old friends (we'd like to consider ourselves normal) and I thought it might not be toooo weird for you to ride up with us, so I just thought I'd offer.

Good luck on getting up, and I hope to meet you up there.

I just got off of the phone with Greg, and althought I won't be there for this meet in person :(, I will still be there at heart:).

Thanks again, everybody, for trying to help, but my parents asked for one thing when I came out here; Not to ride with people I don't know.

I thought of breaking our agreement, but decided against it.

Take pics....talk to you all in a few days.

Well I spent 7 hours on my suspension today and still did not complete it. Had massive trouble with the spring compressors. Went through 3 different ones. Only thing I got done replacing the Bav Auto springs for Eibach. Did not realize that I needed some addition hardware for the front Koni swap. So next week end the fronts come off again and the koni's go on.

Thought for a while there that I was not going to make it Sat.

But I'll will Looking forward to it all is good

Great meet. Great people. Great cars. It was a wonderful way to spend a mild sunny Norcal saturday. I had to leave before the drive so I hope you all had a good time. Thanks to Keith and his wife for having us at Wente and all who help plan the event.

Thanks Greg and I agree with you assesment of everything else.
It's funny, I was talking on the phone with my wife when you posted and she mentioned that she was talking to you at the winery and said to me, wasn't that Greg I was talking to, didn't he have really long hair last time I saw him, damn he looked 15 years younger, he looks great.
I said, yeah, I told him the same thing.

Anyway, when I figure out the posting pictures thing (I'm going to send a copied disc to Brian) my pictures will be up, probably by weeks end.

Thanks to all that came out and will be talkin' to ya in a couple days,

Anyway thanks again and good meet everyone that I did.

Well, I just returned from King River, and even though I had a blast; it still looks like I missed out on a lot...

If there are any people who have pics and/or video they are willing to share with Tempt media then we could definitely use it.

Thanks to Keith and Brian once again for helping(pretty much handling everything) with the meet. Maybe next time I can make it. :dunno

Thanks again Greg, for the offer. Tempt will probably be organizing an actual 5 series show for late fall so look out.

Just wanted to thank Keith for a Great Run! Even though he was constantly kicking up rocks

If he was driving a real BMW ( an E39 ) I'm sure he would have made many more friends! J/k Bro! It was nice to meet you and your wife.

Also, wanted to say hello to all the folks I met at the meet including but not limited to:

Tony, Rob, Bill, Tim, Joe, Phil & wife, Bay Bimmers Dude and wife, Nick ( By the way Nick I didn't realize your car was Carbon and not black!! You wouldn't want my M5 rear bumper...), The Bald guy in the Silver 540 & wife.. and everyone else i didn't have time to meet

Hey folks, GuapOh here, The meet and ride was great. Good company, nice food, great cars and plenty of oversteer.

Sam, thanks for the photos. I don't remember the chicks willing to get naked as shown in your pics but thanks anyway.

I'm glad I was sans spouse, that drive up to the Lick Observatory was soooo Y-Chromosone. I'm glad I didn't buy new tires before the meet. It would have been a waste given all the DSC-Off burnouts and sliding taking place on the climb.
