I have a 96 M3 Coupe and I am looking on wheelmax.com for these wheels and am wondering if they will fit. Would there be any fender rolling involved?

WHEELS: 18x8.5 (front) and 18x9.5 (rear)
TIRES: front - (235/40/18) rear - (265/35/18)
-I don't know the offset on this setup yet but do you think this will work
OR
should I go 18x8.5 all around?
and what size tire shoul I go with?
-(225/40/18)
-(235/40/18) or
-(245/40/18)

Sorry I am a noob when it comes to fitting wheels and tires, thanks for the help!

I don't think the 265s are going to fit with stock fenders. The 235s up front may be fine depending on your suspension.

I would personally go 18x8.5 all around on a e36. I've been running 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear S03s and it handles great.

should I stick with one size tire if Im going to do 18x8.5 all around? Should I go 225/40 all around or 235/40?

hoosiers are really fat. in fact, last year used hoosier track compound tires with 225 up front & 245 rear. this year i have the new a3so4's in 225 all around on 8 1/2" koseis, & i have some "minor" rubbing issues. i already rolled the fenders too. right front rubs inside of tire on brake line bracket & left rear rubs out side of tire enough to shear off a little rubber.

I would pobably go - 18x8(front) and 18x9 (rear) with 225/40/18 F 245/35/18 R.

I'd like to know what sizes we can run also? I know a few guys on here have 255/35/18 all around, but what is needed to do this? Spacers(if so, what size? Fender roll?

Ok i'm ordering these wheels tomorrow, just some clarification: 18x8.5 all around with 225/40/18 tires. Does this seem right to anyone? Is anyone else running this size tire all around or what should I get?

What size tire are you running with 18x8.5 all around?????????

Tirerack suggests 225/40/18 on a 18x8.5 wheel. You could also go 235/40/18 on that wheel.

I've been running 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear S03s .

mantic - why are you running two different tire sizes, is there any advantage to that?

I'd find out the offset before ordering them.

Also, I'd go with 235/40-18's all around. 225's are a bit narrow IMO, and using the same size all around allows for rotation.

Yea what should the offset be? I don't want any fender rolling going on. that was the only question i forgot to ask the guy, but I will tomorrow.
Plus I don't want that look where the rim sticks out further than the tire, so would 235s solve that?

Offset should be in the high 30's or low 40's. Anything under 35 and you'll need to think about rolling those fenders.

235 is a good fit on a 8.5" width rim.

Awesome! thanks a lot spencer! Everything seems to be clear now, just hope the offset is right, I'll ask tomorrow.

Alright, final answer... will this setup work - 18x8.5 all around with 235/40/18 and 35 offset? Will i have to roll my fenders? I do have stock susp.

I'm running 18x8.5 all around with 225/40/18 w/ an offset of 35. I have stock suspension, I thought there was no rubbing at first but when I had 4 persons(avg weight) in the car including myself and 60lbs. load in the trunk, there was a little bit of rubbing. I think I might need to roll my fenders a little bit.

Or get a stiffer suspension :buttrock

....or that. Suspension is actually next in my list.

with a 38mm offset you can run 245/35/18 all around. 35 and lower I wouldn't go more than 235's.

Dale runs 265's in the front, 285's in the rear on his E36 M3...

Dale runs 265's in the front, 285's in the rear on his E36 M3...

Then again, I dont think you can classify his car as a street car anymore. He is probabily running huge camber (allows more tire clearence), and probabily has rolled his fenders to the limit....

You've got to compare apples to apples.....

I had 265 all around on the fragile boat anchors in the picture below. No fitment problems.
