Considering a Mini...have a question about insurance..

I drove a mini cooper recently and loved it. My question is... has anyone noticed a siginificant insurance difference in the cooper and cooper S. I would love the S, but my whole purpose for this car would be to a) keep miles off the M3 which I plan to keep forever or close to it, b)save on insurance since M3 insurance is not cheap, especially in NJ, c)have a new car :), and d)save money on gas mileage - which is better on the cooper than the S.

I havent called around to insurance companies yet, just trying to put stuff in perspective.
