I am getting 4 hard faults in the engine ecm when just turning the key on and scanning. I tried to clear the codes but they will not clear, engine does not have to be running. The codes are (115) hot film mass meter, (34) camshaft control bank 2, (33) camshaft control bank 1 , and inlet air temp sensor. I know the air temp. sensor is part of my maf sensor on this model. I am going to ring the wires out to the dme to both cam sensors and maf, temp sensors, but this problem only happened after the head gasket job. I used the bmw timing tools, car will run great over idle , but runs rough at idle and I know its because the computer uses these sensors for fuel injection pulse widths. I do not see anything in the wiring, like a ground or something causing just these faults. All the wires go through x60003 of dme , but I checked the pins and none are bent. Any suggestions?

What car? Do you mean you clear them and they come right back or they won't clear period?

They will not clear , even with the engine not running & key on. I have power to the scan tool and its working correctly. I have checked both cam sensors and the maf sensor, but they are hooked up correctly. I am getting the reference voltage to the sensors. I did not have this problem before the head job. Has anyone had this problem before? Im confused because I cannot find a common wire that would effect all three sensors at the same time. I rechecked the x60003 connector on the ecm.

I had the main timing chain one tooth off and that was causing the cam faults. Also , I dont know why, my scan tool would not clear the faults on the throttle sensor, but when I disconnected the battery I got the faults to clear and they did not come back. I did have to reset the main timing chain to clear the cam faults.
