Well Well, I finally shelled out the money and bought a set of Racing scales to Corner balance my 00 740i. What a difference it made and felt..the coilovers was put on even on the front and the rear, but the car still felt like it was swaying alot around corners and when it hit bumps and dips in the road. I can actually feel the weight not being transferred evenly, when I did the weighing of the car the right side is heavier than the left side, and the front is heavier than the rear, but the passenger front wheel and rear left wheel had more weight on it. I would recommend get your BMW Corner Balanced if you have coilovers...

Its the only proper way to setup coils.

Wow that surprises me! I thought BMWs were all about the 50/50 weight distribution! I really played around with the idea of KIDOs, but I'm sticking with Bilsteins because it seems that coilovers are a hit or miss.

Coilovers are not hit or miss, they are solid, and I love the fact they allow you to bring the car down low, but again you cannot just throw a set of coilovers on your car and think its all good, once coiovers are thrown on your weight distribution goes to hell, its not as easy as making sure both side coilovers are even, your body weight and different things in your car affects all that. With out corner balancing your car will brake a little different cause of the weight and tires will wear out unevenly on the heavier side.. I hope that helps...

Try buying A strong strut it made a world of difference for me although I took my coilovers off and went to H&R 2's with bilsteins really never had a problem with corner balancing just made sure the front were equal and the rear was equally adjusted but the strong strut made it feel like my shifter cart in the turns.

The thing with coils is even if one corner is a half turn higher than the others thats gonna throw the weights off.

I agree one half turn would add about 20 pounds or more to the opposite side..., most car manufactures has a reason for struts and shock being for the left side and right side, most cars will not have weight evenly distributed, even your body weight throws it off.. and my car feels like a go cart now and all suspension hits at the same time with equal amount of weight..

Interesting. Ever since I installed mine, my front tires are wearing funny. I've had two alignments too. And I notice braking, while good, can sometimes pull the car.
I don't plan on keeping these coil overs, but I do plan on getting a nicer set soon. Any shops that I can go to to have this done?
I may have to stop by your place sometime! That is, if your scales can handle a 750 with a bunch of extra stuff :P

I have a 740i which was 4339 pounds, the scales can handle 1500 per tire, GSXrliterbikz the same of what you feel is what I felt, I have had different versions of coilovers, but to be honest I never corner balance any of them till now, I bought the scales form a shop in Race shop in Nashville, TB called Full Throttle all four scales and controller was sold brand new for ($975.00). Most Race shops they told me charge $100.00 an hour, I was like wow.... alot of coilover collar adjustments, but well worth it..

Did you do any DIY write up with pics yet? Does this kit come with four, two or one scale?
