I have a 2005 Z4 with a blown TCM (probably tranny too, but that is another story) I want to buy an ebay replacement to reprogram but I need a littl more info. I have searched and cannot find an answer so here goes..

What numbers are relevant? I know that the base unit is 0 260 002 642. Underneath this there is a number 7 548 312. at the bottom of the tag are two more numbers 003 B3KC2200 and GCHU40041891. The date is 04-09-29 and the last numbers are GS8.60.4? I know the first number (Unit number) is a must but am not sure if all of them can be reprogrammed or if more of the numbers need to match.

0260 002 642 is the Bosch part number, any one of them should do with reprogramming
7 548 312 is a BMW part number, it may be for an unprogrammed unit, or one ready programmed.

Not sure on the other codes, but GS8.60.4 is the BMW type number, which is the group of EGS ecus.

Have you got DIS v44?

If you have, go to the programming tab, and you'll find some options for EGS reprogramming and you want the one for control unit replacement.
