225/50/15's for stock rims?

I'm looking at buying new tires for my car....looking at 225/50/15, not sure what brand but would these be a nice improvement over stock for launching and control on the road?

ps....do they make a 225/45/15 thats street legal? or at all?

That's the size that came stock on 93 and 94 sport package 325s. They'll probably give you better control.
I'd stay away from 225 45's since it'll throw off your speedometer and odometer readings (as in it will register more miles than actually driven).
