Advice for Wheels/Tyres to fit 1989 525i w/ M3 Suspension Package

Thank you in advance for any advice and pointers given below;

I currently own a 1989 BMW 525i, previous owner had an M3 suspension package fitted;
It still has the BMW 17" alloys, (which I believe were stock?) - so would this is turn mean I could fit most wheels with the same offset, or am I going to encounter more headaches than it's worth?

You would still go off the wheels and tire fitment for the 525I. We have wheels listed on our web site that will fit the car. If I can help let me know.
