Went to moroso last sunday and had a bad day.....(NO TRACTION)
launched pretty good with a .30 RT, but no traction 60' was 3.4 shifted to 3rd and bout 330' lost traction again when the power came on had massive wheel hop bounced off the rev limiter and broke a rocker arm and finished the run at 14.5 @ 103mph on 5 cylinders  ...that track is horrible
so now I begin the rebirth of Big Red' :evil2 :buttrock

Sorry to hear about the engine damage Pat. I guess I will find out how bad Moroso is today (as well as finding out how bad I am  ; it has been about 7 years since I was last out there and at that time it was with a meager 180 rwhp).

Pat sorry to hear that. I know it can be very nervous at the track and with your adrenaline pumping, we all tend to want to plant that foot down.
I know that on the track and street wheel hop is a killer. Can brake lots of things especially on the drivetrain. Driveshaft, half shaft, diff, mouts etc..
Thank god the times that I have gone to the track I have not gotten any wheel hop but just wheel spin.
Why would the rocker go if you hit the rev limiter thought that would protect the engine ?
Running the 1/4 mile is not as easy as some people think it is. I thought it was easy till I went there and tried it for myself. The best I could manage then 3 years ago at my first attempt was 13.15@108-109mph.
My friend drove and got it down to high 12's that same day

So what engine are you stuffing in there now? How hard is it to locate an Alpina powerplant?

well the rocker arm in the Big 6 are prone to break and sometimes are weak...
I usually break either #2, or #1..in the front half of the motor easy fix....
but #4 is in the back which means we gotta pull the head off to get it out...
so might as drop the other goodies in... :redspot and get it over with..
alot of guys think 1/4mile times are easy true...especially if you know your car makes power and is capable of a good speed time...my tires are excellent on the street...but were useless on the track....most time the car is not the issue the driver is.....

Very true, power is only one part of the equation for a good 1/4 mile time.
Axle tramp has to be one of the worst sounds to come out of a car, when I ran my car ages ago at one stage it sounded like I was going to leave the car's rear end at the 60ft mark! Stupid low tyre pressure!!!
I also know about broken rockers with my own car, number 4 cylinder inlet side for me about 3 years ago on the street while doing some big revs...
The things we do for fun!!

Hey Pat depending on which rocker broke, you can remove your grill, radiater, ac condernsor, timing cover, loosen all of the valves, and should be able to pull out the cam from the front, along with thw shaft and remove and sneak in the rocker, depending on where it is. Good luck :)

All that wheelhop & loss of traction isn't fun. Let me tell you Pat (not sure why you haven't yet) you should try out some drag radials for all-time usage. I have been running BFG drag radials on my Supra for a few weeks now making the same highboost power you are. It is amazing! I slip a little in 1st & 2nd with 25PSI but 3rd+ is just in your seat accelerating freedom! I had gotten to the point(since I boost 27PSI sometimes on the street) that street tires in rear brake lose in 4th now. It's a joke just like it is for you! If you have 18's NITTO makes DR's in 18 now! You have to try them out!!!!!!
Once you go DR you never go back!!!! :buttrock
