Can someone give me an approximate market value of a 1995 US Specification S38 in good working order with transmission?
How about wheels, rear differential as well.
Thanks a lot.

Umm, theres no US Spec 95 S38. Nonetheless S38 engines in general, they tend to go for around ~$5,000+ plus the cost of tranny (used). What wheels are you talking about? Differentials seem to be <$1000.

Actually there is. There's a 3.5 liter, a 3.6 and a 3.8 as well. I'm refering to the 3.6 liter. If that's available also in certain years of European cars, my mistake. I was under the impression that the European cars all displaced 3.8 liters.
The wheels are the fan type.
Is anyone interested in buying a M5 Roller, light front end hit, complete with working mechanicals and interior?
It's in Boston, I have a salvage title. 1995 E34 Sedan with 3.6 liter
Offers entertained.

As far as the engines: the 3.5 was <91, and the 3.6 was in the 91-93 US Spec models. In Europe they got the 3.8's and unfortunately IIRC, we got none of them directly, although theres been some people who have imported them.
ANNNNNYway.........please post pictures of the car or email me at acbimmer@yahoo.com I may be interested

Thinking of parting it or are you trying to get rid of the whole thing? How many miles on the car? Color? I'm also in Boston....

525it, I didn't see anything in my PM box. Maybe you want to send it again?
We're trying to decide what to do with the car now. We may do another E30 engine swap or part/sell the roller.
Thanks, does anyone know the market value??

Alex-
There was no official 1994 or 1995 US model M5 sedan. We got the 540i M-sport instead. The european 1993-1995s are all 3.8 liter, earlier cars (1989-92 euro and 1991-1993 US were 3.6, IIRC).
I don't know what you have there. It is probably a 1991-1993 US 3.6 liter. I believe the 3.5 liter S38 is in the E28 M5, not the later E34.
In any event, I would guess the engine is worth around $5k if it is in good order. The wheels are probably worth $800-1000 in good shape. The turbine covers make the car look like it is running 15s and whitewall tires. LoL. Those who keep the originals often take them off to expose the black star-spokes underneath. Most are running different wheels, usually the later M-5 throwing stars.
I don't know how much the rest of the parts are worth. Some of the M-specific trim pieces may be worth something.

No no, i sent something to AJ, and was apologizing to you for stealing the thread.
If your parting the car out you might have a chance to make some cash. Speaking from what i've seen not "official" information i'd say this
$800-1100 for the wheels depending on shape
$2500-3500 for the motor alone depending on mileage and history
$700-1000 for tranny depending on mileage
$$$-for any other parts you plan on selling, such as body panels, seats, etc.
ONCE AGAIN!!! These are prices i have seen not "official" listing prices.
If you need to Borrow a camera to take pictures let me know via PM.
