Recently I've purchased an US-Spec 94 325is, but since I live in Canada, it is required for us to have daytime running lights on our vehicles in order to pass inspection. I've purchased an Canadian DRL module and installed it but it did not work. The low and high beams still turn on like before but no DRL when key turned into run position. I've searched various places and from what I read that pre 95 E36 is a direct plug and go replacement for the US high beam relay located under the steering column. When I was trying to locate the high beam module by the steering column I was only able to find a orange Bosch replacement relay part # 0 332 019 456 placed next to the brown crash alarm relay, also there were only 4 wires coming out of the Bosch relay but I tried the DRL module anyways since it is supposed to be a direct plug in but it did not work. I've also tried to switch out the high beam relay inside the fuse box (which is the exact same relay found under the steering column) but that also did not work. Any ideas on what I can do to get DRL working? Have my car been rewired? Here are some pictures.
