Removing E34 sideskirts...

How do I remove the sideskirt off my E34 525i ??

what u can do, is sand it down, smooth it out and paint
it body color like i plan to this summer =]

I thought the early e34's didn't have side skirts, hence sanding and painting lower body panel. But the later model did have sideskirts. I've seen them, they look purty.

search for a thread about adding the side skirts and reverse the process. I'll try to find it - I think there was an ETK. To my knowledge, the 1995 e34 and the e34 used the skirts.

You're wrong, it is a skirt. It does come off too, it's just a pain and I'm not exactly sure what steps to follow.

crawl under there and a look for some bolts...it sure as heck
ain't on there with 3m double sided tape...

I took off a few bolts and it was more loose then, but there are still some sort of clips that hold it on. It's hard to tell how they release.

I had to go to the salvage yard today and took a look for ya. I noticed that every 5"? on the top running across are push-in fasteners, the same type use to hold door panels on(knowledge from when I had the Jeep Cherokee). The fenders were off so I just saw the part from the front to the door sill. Anybody with me on this one?

I guess get a fastner pryer and try the very front first carefully. Hope this helps. The BMW I saw was a 95 525i.

I can see some of the fasteners but they're nearly impossible to access.
