Radio Issues!!

I recently purchased a 2007 550i and the radio is cutting in and out, eventually just shuts down all together, almost seems like it gets hot or something. Any ideas?

Sounds like a loose ground

Mine does this as well but usually on start-up. It just won't come on, the iDrive knob spins freely and the radio station, time and date all have lines instead of numbers. Sometimes it will do this for a few minutes but will eventually come on.

A time or two it has cut out after the car has been on but if I turn the car off and let it sit for a while it will turn back on and work normally. It's annoying but hasn't bothered me enough to get checked out, though maybe a battery issue or even worse my ccv but keeping my fingers crossed it's not the latter.
