Hey guys,

Checking in from down under. I'm from Australia and own a BMW E60 530i (non-M-Sport) with the factory style 122 alloys from the BMW 545i. I've been toying with the idea of buying a set of E60 Style 166 OEM M5 wheels, though my research tells me there are some issues with picking the right size and profile tyres for the wheels. I know for a fact though that you can't run a 255 up front on a non-M5 fender as the factory specifications tell me they are 10mm wider guards.

I really love the OE M5 wheels (style 166M) and have found a used set in showroom condition.

OEM M5 specs:

Front Wheels 19 x 8.5 inch with Continental Sport Contact 2 (255/40 ZR19)

Rear Wheels 19 x 9.5 inch with Continental Sport Contact 2 (285/35 ZR19)

I would hate to sacrifice the ride quality and have been thinking if it would be possible to run these specs below.

245/40/19 Front and 275/35/19 Rear. I've been reading and some say that you can run a 285/35/19 in the rear but I may or may not need to roll the guards. I'd prefer the easiest and most safest option without sacrificing ride quality with low profile.

If someone can help me out it will be greatly appreciated. Has anyone done this? If yes, be good if you can share some light.

I have 245/35/19 and 285/30/19 on my 530i with H&R Sport springs. No spacers and they fit well. Ride quality is fine (much better than with the original run flats).
