Hi, I need some help if someone knows how to adjust the sensitivity on the stock alarm on a E39. The alarm in my car goes off at avery little noise. My battery started to die due to the fact that the alarm goes off every 10-15 min. Can anyone help me with some tips without going to the dealer?
Thanks

Well, I don't know what else to say.... just that I think is very sensitive. I would like to adjust that (if possible) and not to go off every time a truck or a Harley passes by. I am thinking there got to be an adjustable relay somewhere that can be adjusted. Just like on the new installed alarms. The installer adjust the level of sensitivity from very low to high.
Any idea how the factory installed alarm on the E39 can be adjusted?

I don't know how to adjust the sensor, but it sounds like the motion or shock sensor is faulty. Get a service manual and do some research....
