View Full Version : Would an OSV tube leak cause a code or misfunction of the ICV?

As the title asks, I believe that I have a leaky seal around the OSV tube connection.. The car keeps throwing a p0505 code, and the idle randomly jumps between 700 and 1000.

I just finished doing the timing chain guides, and the car runs great, other than this.

Is it possible that the ICV is stuck because it sat for a few months?
Or more likely that a leaky seal on the OSV tube is causing this code, and the ICV is working fine?
Does the OSV have any effect on the ISV?

Just looking for more info before I pull the intake off the car again.
Thanks, Ben

Have you tries to spray around the manifold/intake for leaks

Vacuum leak can cause idle issues. Fix it.

I already know there is a small vacuum leak, that I will be fixing.. I was just curious about how the system functions. Also, everything on the intake or touching it is literally 2 days old. All new gaskets as part of the timing job. This is why I'm more interested in the Idle Control Valve information. Specifically, is it a vacuum operated valve or an electrical controlled valve?
From what I have read, it does nothing more than adjust the idle.
Thanks
