Final 2 Decals...

These are the final two decals... the top one was made by me... it'll be approximately 1 1/2 inches tall and whatever that works out to be long wise... probably 7-8".

Decal #3 was made by Brian... I don't know his screen name. I haven't decided if they will be available in blue yet (BMW trademark). I'd imagine they'd be 5x5 inches square.

It will be available in a variety of solid colors... cost varies depending on size.

#1 on a decal
#3 on a t-shirt (small logo on the top left on your chest, with #1 across the back, or #3 as a big graphic on the back)

I have to agree with the other posts....#1 would look great on the bumper. #2 would look good on a side window or on a T-Shirt as well....I would buy both! If you want to put them on T-Shirts I know a guy....

Kevlar, have you gotten any ballpark figures ( 1 color, 2 color, ect) on what it would cost or is it design specific?

Brian... I'll probably need the logo in a .ai file for the vinyl printer. That way he'll get it perfect instead of having to recreate it.

As for the price of the #1 decal, it'll be less than $5 I'm guessing going on past history of having decals made.

How about using a shade of blue which is close to the BMW blue but not the same ?!?! ;)

Was thinking about it... but that's like playing with the fine line of legality and honestly... BMW has a much better legal team than I could ever hope to afford. Plus one day I'd like to get a E56 M3.

I could flip-flop the blue and white and make it the opposite of what the roundel is.....would that be a work around?

I don't have a problem with it (the original design)....I don't have anything to take that BMW doesn't already have....They can have my student loans when they take the rest.... :)

P.S. We could just buy the center roundel stickers that they use on the rims and have the white lettering going around it....it would just be smaller.

Legally speaking, I don't think it makes a difference. If you copy the BMW roundel logo without permission, you would infringe copyright and trademark rights. If you just make it look like the BMW roundel logo, you could still be violating BMW's trademark rights even though you're not violating copyright laws. Trademark rights are intended to prevent someone from making a mark similar enough to confuse a typical consumer.

The safest thing to do is to get written permission for whatever decal you're going to make. Of course, you can always choose to create something that would infringe trademark or copyright laws and hope that BMW doesn't find out or do anything. Just my 3 cents.

where are you sending the .ai files to be cut out? i would like to get some pikachu stickers cut,,, i can't find one in the stores that are as big as i want,,, i need one that is at least three feet high.

Well I was going to sell because I had a last minute deal to get a e46 m3 at MSRP but after I saw LSB I said NO! I will wait for the '02 w/ more options and color choices.


Not this weekend... I'm kinda busy moving house this weekend. I'm going to investigate more next week.
