Alrighty, I've owned BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche in the past but wife wants a Mini!
We've found a fairly priced 07 JCW model and was wondering is this a good year to get and anything to watch out for?
Any advice is appreciated. :)

I believe 2007 was the year the second generation Mini was introduced, and I've read about abnormal timing chain problems during the first year, as the engine was changed in the second generation. Since its a 2007, and we are now in 2013, I would suspect that problem would have shown itself in this particular car by now, if its going to ever be a problem.
My suggestion is to completely examine the service history of the car, and obtain a PPI before moving forward. After all, the usual buyer of a JCW Mini is a more "spirited" driver, which puts more demands on the car. If the price seems abnormal, give it even more consideration.
Still, you can't paint all with a broad brush. It all depends on the individual car, and its history.
Good luck!

I enjoy my JCW '12. It comes with a Peugeot cylinder head. I beleive now in '13 it has a full BMW motor.

They are known for the timing chain tensioner backing out, the timing chain stretching, and the guides breaking. You should also look to see if it has history of a carbon cleaning done on the intake valves + programming to the current i-level. Beware the 2007 doesn't have the 1 touch up function on the windows! (if it matters to you that is)

Know I'm late to this party. Just stay away from these years Minis. Crap motors.

Thanks for the info.
Ended up with an 06 S.
Supposed to be a JCW but turns out that it's just an S.
The documentation is so iffy with JCW's that I thought it might have been one.
In hindsight, it was a stupid purchase with nearly 100k but having fun changing out stuff.
Other than the great gas mileage still thinking should have stuck with BMW, Mercedes, or Porsche.
Oh well...

No, don't feel that way. The 06 is a great choice and 100K is no big deal if it was maintained well. Not being a JCW also make no difference really. You will love the car I bet. Every time I get in one I remember how much fun they are. ENJOY!
