Sport Shift Not Responding ?

My 2008 328i Coupe with automatic gearbox seems to have developed an issue. The Sport Shift Mode on the SHIFTER not the paddles has decided it won't shift up but will respond to downshifts. The paddles work correctly both ways. Does anybody know what the problem could be?

The problem is that you don't have a manual ;)

...driving a manual in stop and go traffic for 3 or more hours a day is not my idea of fun. But any actual advice or any similar problems?

Haha I know, I'm sorry. The only problems I've heard with the manual mode are that a wire in the shifter under the boot might come loose preventing the mode from being activated, but you can activate yours so I'm not sure. Sorry I couldn't help more!
