Sync the EWS ?

You need to sync the DME-EWS with PAsoft, DIS V44 or SSS Progman.

You won't be able to resync with DIS on that ECU.
Your easiest option is to take the memory chip from the bad ECU and fit it onto the new one.

Make sure your ECUs are of the same type (5WK9 XXX) and then unsolder this chip

Look for the one marked 29F400, remove this and swap it between the ECUs.
This chip holds the VIN number and immobiliser data.

You may need to reset the rolling immobiliser codes afterwards, but you should see this in INPA as "EWS3 Start value synchronisation" on the MS42 engine page.

You could also just make the ECU A VIRGIN ECU.

Could I virgintize the dme? My ecu currently has the key data stored correctly on it and that would save me a hell of a lot of work lol
