I have 2012 335i Coupe. It has 13k miles on it. The car is mostly driven on freeways at a steady 72-75mph. I noticed that when I start the car after it has been sitting for an hour or so, (not totally cold) On start up the idle hunts around between 800 and about 1500-1700. On a totally cold start it does not act like that, it just smoothly idles at around 900.
So it's time for the first service and I ask the service writer about this issue and they say they will check on it for me.
Time to pick up the car and I am told that there were no "codes thrown" and since that's the case, there is not a problem.
Does anyone else have this issue? Am I just being too picky?
I also asked about the "hair-trigger" throttle response from a stop making it hard to modulate the throttle and not get a neck snapping start. I was told that is just the nature of this engine and I needed to get used to it.
I just wondered what others thought?
Thanks in advance for your insightful comments. :)
