This just started happening with the weather change. It seems to only happen with an up and down movement, not side to side. I've seen that it could be rear ball joints?

Rear control arms and ball joints can cause that.

Upper part of strut can cause that too.
Spray up top with silicone spray and see if it lessens. That's what I had to do and all my noises went away for a few weeks.

Or what sigtwenty said.
BTW, I'm having the same issue.

At first it was my parking brake grommet. The. I sprayed silicone and it went away then came back while i was traveling at low speeds like 5-25 mph in parking lots and when i would get in and out of the car so i rebuilt my whole rear suspension upper and lower control arms, guide links and lower ball joints and it all went away

Could be anything back there. Look for the most rusted parts.

+1 on rear parking brake grommet I removed mine and wrap it in a piece of rubber hose. No more noise.

Your problem is just starting, This is also happening to my car, however mine is a lot worse. It is not the parking brake grommet, looked and tried to apply the fix at that already, it is happening on both sides. It has been getting progressively worse over time, about 3 months now (it was too cold to get under the car for my likings lately) and is so bad now that if you look at the car the wrong way it squeaks.. Trying to find out what the issue is, I have been under the car so much and sprayed EVERYTHING down (including the top of the spring area, but the noise is coming from down below) to try to temporary isolate this annoying and embarrassing noise problem until I get to the shop soon. Everyone looks at me when I drive through the subdivision, squeak...squeak...squeak.... no matter how small the vibration to the car. Went through 2 cans of WD-40 and could not stop the terrible squeak. It is coming from both sides and it appears to be coming from the lower rear ball joints (this is near the brake rotors where the noise is coming from, sounds like a really old metal rocking chair that is rusted out), and possibly another bushing on the control arm in conjunction.I sprayed those down but nothing happened. All the bushings I saw under there look old/worn and everything looks original (car has 112xxx miles on it, super low for a 1995!). I had another guy pushing up and down on the rear of the car while I was underneath the car trying to desperately locate the source of the noise. I hope it's the only the ball joints cuz I don't want to rebuild the whole back end right now.

Sound like noise is from lower ball joints, I had this problem what I did was punch a very small hole in the rubber of the ball joint and spray WD-40 inside the ball joint and noise will go away for a while, and other thing when you going to replace them DO NOT use aftermarket parts otherwise noise will come back really soon.
