Get it scanned to tell you the exact reason they are on or else you will be stressed out like me lol

Could be anything from a faulty wheel sensor to the Module in the engine bay. Best advice from Beemer1804 - get it scanned.

If you are on a budget and like the work. Check each wheel speed sensor starting with left rear then right rear. Look for cracked wires, crud all over both the sender and receiver of the sensor.

It's issues like this that make me happy to own a ridiculous amount of diagnostic stuff. A few minutes and I know where to look.

I don't know if every car is the same but on my 98 750 when my ABS light and traction light were on I checked all the sensors and couldn't find a bad one, so then I thought maybe it was the DSC compressor. So I unplugged it and my ABS light went off and ABS worked correctly but the traction didn't. So I replaced the DSC compressor and all is fine. And all the lights when off. And sometimes if you're speedometer is acting funny it points to the rear drivers side sensor. And the cruise control operates off the passenger side sensor in the rear.

Not really, but maybe. I think he needs to check the sensors first because that's the cheapest route. I was just wondering if the OP saw the brake light illuminated in yellowish as well as the other lights that are illuminated on the car...

Not really, when the Module fails it doesn't mean you cluster goes wacko.
Internet diagnoses is always fun isn't it.....I like to say a Picture is worth a few hundred or thousands of dollars, especially with the e38.

If the brake light is on as well, then most likely it's the module. From personal experience, the cluster can go crazy. Maybe not all the time. In your situation, it seems like a speed sensor or the DSC thing mentioned above.
