My partner just purchased a 2011 BMW Pre-owned Certified 335xi coupe from a local BMW store. We have the following questions (could not find anything on here to answer...)
1) what tools come with the car - in the trunk there is only a wrench and a screw driver, in the manual (yes I read it cover to cover) it shows several other tools but I could not tell what they were. In our car it sure looks like some are missing from the tool tray in the passenger side of the trunk (slots & clips etc with nothing in them).
2) Is there a jack & lug wrench? Could not find them anywhere, nor any mention of them in the manual - under the panel in the center of the trunk there is a small well that looks like something was supposed to be stored there (not big enough for a temp spare etc)..
3) We received nothing from the dealer that documented the car was certified. Past pre-owned luxury car purchases (Mercedes, Lexus & Audi) all had a "welcome packet" for the pre-owned warranty with our vin etc on it. We had to call the 800 number to confirm they showed it was certified (caused my partner to be freaked out all night that they pulled a fast one on him - and me also due to his freak out LOL). So the question is what is the standard documentation the dealer should have provided us regarding certification on the car? Our sales guy has been less than helpful and appears to be in need of some training - hence my post to the experts here!

So basically we love the car but are WAY unimpressed with BMW and how they handle their clients (waited about an hour to finalize the deal with the finance guy, ran out at last minute asking us as we were driving off to sign another document, and what appears to be missing documentation etc....) We really felt like the experience was buying at a buy here pay here used car lot :(

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Maybe you mis spoked in your last paragraph, but you purchased the car from a dealer not BMW. You should have received a "warranty vehicle inquiry" that had the in service date, any current warranties, and cost for any additional warranties. The 4 pages also includes all recalls, maintenance, all options on the car, sales and transfer history, etc.
The info was provided by the dealer even before I test drove the car. If you didn't get one, ASK!
Additionally for $2,100 you may have purchased the full factory maintenance warranty that is all inclusive to 72mo/100k.
Yes, you may have missing items in your took kit. The dealer will not replace them. The same thing if the previous owner returned only one key.
Your car should have come with "run flat" tires making a jack totally worthless. We can argue run flat tires are worthless, but that's for another day. The most important tool is the tow bolt that screws in the front of the bumper to tow the car.
BTW, should your car require towing, It has to be on a flatbed. BMW assist service runs about 200$ per year. 2 IPHONE Apps available are for remote locking/unlocking the car and park assist ( For privacy reasons, if the car is more than .6 miles away, it will not show the location of it.)
just as a reference, should you be close to a speed shop that has a 4 wheel dyno, for $800-1,000, the car will scream with 341 HP and additional 60# of torque.
