everytime i look at bmw tuner companies on wikipedia i see Alpina and Dinan which dont sound anything like German names. Alpina is pronounced Al-peen-a which sounds like peenus; Dinan just sounds weird like some weird guys name Dee-nan. on the other hand you have hartge, hamann and schnitzer which all sound like German names. so why would anyone want to badge their E38 with Alpeenus or Dee-nan? you have to admit both those names just sound stupid. they should get rid of them. if i see an e38 or any other Beemer with those tags i laugh at the prononciation " is that a Peen driving that Poser Al-peen-a? LMFAO. if you have badged your e38 with either of these weird names please post a pic so we can all laugh. thanks

Dingo is pronounced Di-ngo not Dye-ngo as you say. its not Dye-nan its Di-nan as Di as in Dee. also you didnt say how Alpina is pronounced. it cant be Al-pye-na cause Alpine itself is Al-pyne. therefore it must be Al-Peen-Uh. most would agree it does sound stupid doesnt it.

Actually it was a Mercedes Benz W140 S420. And Yes it was better than the E38 in durability, longevity and build-quality. hands down, dont even bother to counter that Please for your own sake.

Do you really have a European plate attached to the lower grill while having an empty plate holder above it, post some more pics of that great setup you got there, so we can all laugh..........
