Door lock & the keyless system & door sensors.

Hey guys,

I have removed the driver rear door panel to try to fix it up and look for whats making a clunking noise when locks operate. Man this thing is mangled, the PO busted the rear quarter shades on both sides and pulled the door apart like garbage.

Anyway, all my locks function but the rear driver door has a metal rod with a nylon end unhooked showing behind the little clear sticker that covers the round hole on the top of the door so obv. something is unhooked but it must be a sensor since the lock works.

Is there a mechanical sensor on each door? This would no doubt prevent my key from initializing if the car thinks one of the doors is unlocked right? I want keyless to work! Just asking because it looks like I have to pull a ton apart to get to fixing this unless I can just trick the sensor into thinking its always locked :)

Yes i believe it's the same sensor that detects if the door is ajar.

The sensor might be jammed or all together broken

Ah heck, the door always knows when it is open and shut so that cannot be it. Not sure if it thinks any of the doors are not locked when they are. How complicated is the setup. It looks like 2 little wires go up to the top of the window frame, maybe window sensors? then there is the sunroof. Does the system need 4 doors locked 4 windows up the fuel door locked and the sunroof shut to initialize the key?

Not in the 740 i'm not positive about the 750, but i doubt it has to be all windows up all 4 doors locked and the sunroof closed to activate remote unlocking.

Have you tried to unplug or jump the door sensors?
