I just purchased a 2002 530i. According to the dealer's CPO paperwork (from years ago) it has Sport, Premium, Cold Weather, Xenons, and premium hi-fi packages. The build date is 11/2001.
It has the High OBC instrument cluster with the alphanumeric display. When I press the OBC button all the functions from the high OBC cycle through the display. When I press and hold the OBC button on the stalk "Program 1" is displayed on the instrument cluster as it should for high OBC. That all functions as it should.
Here is the odd part: My MID only has the clock button on the lower left and not the clock/BC button of the high OBC. Thus, I cannot reset, select, or operate any of the High OBC functions. It's as if the wrong MID has been installed somewhere along the line.
Have any of you heard of this? Is there a work around? Am I stuck with buying a new MID if I want to have full functionality?
