I hope i am not alone in trying to find diagnostic software for older non vanos BMW's Many programs that can be found have been moded or hacked! I figure maybe someone has some info to share even if not the whole thing. The reasoning is that even parts can be collected and made whole again.

Not a whole lot! some of the wiring grimlins are due to bmw using wire crip connectors and multi blade connectors! other than the connector ford uses the same bosch o2 sensor. crusie control can be deleted without affecting anything and if you have a automatic tranny that has two pans on it its normally a 4l30e built by gm and can get a master rebuild kit for under $200. I was hoping someone had some old inpa files that contained the ecu program for motronic 3.1 i think even the porsch 911 or 944 file may work. and you can get to the chip on these also by lifting the top board up at the back and pulling it towards the back! The infamous taillight error can ussaually be fixed by putting new bulb sockets in. And if u ever pull up your carpet (dont know why) but the wire harness under it has almost no tape on it!!! I wrapped all of mine in tape and cut all blade connectors out as well as crimp connectors and soldered them! Also on m50 engine factory suggests replacement of main bolts as well as rod bolts and the engine cams can be set and timed without the expensive cam lock tool a streight edge does fine!

I forgot to mention the connector for the ford o2 sensor is diffrent! 1990's model fords that is using one on mine now! And the ecu chips are AMD 27c256-200dq if it helps anyone.
