96 328iC / 18x8 ET40 possible tire size?

I'm wondering what max. tire size I can run with slightly rolled rear fenders, on a 96 328iC / 18x8 ET40? Im looking at Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 or Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position again.

I'm driving mostly street and every other week an Auto-X.

Any advice would be appreciated.

18x8 ET40
ET is probably the offset in millimeter: 40. Unfortunately it turns out that 18x8 are not wide enough for 255. The next smaller size 245/35 for S03s aren't produced for 18''. Therefore the next smaller size that will stay close in diameter to the orginal tire will be 235/40 on 18x8.

So I ordered the S03s in that size, which should fit without any problems, because I didn't want to spend the money on new rims.
