Hello guys new to the forums have read lots of your post, DIYs and discussions and would like to say thank you all:worship::worship::worship::worship::worship:.

Well to the question, just recently bought a 325i stock great conditions EXCEPT the paint:((Calypso Red Metallic)scratches, small door dents etc and just wanted to know if a good wax can make the paint look a little better for the time being? If so any suggestions on wax kit/products?

You would want to polish the paint first. Wax is really just a sealer, polish removes scratches and oxidation.

If you really want your car to look good , I would recommend that you take it to a pro and have him polish and wax your car. It is worth it to pay a professional. The result are amazing.

Wax is just a protective coating for the paint. Compounds and polishes are the products used to remove oxidation, scratches and swirls. Depending on the condition of the paint, a good detail can completely transform the car. If you want the best results, I'd take it to a reputable shop that specializes in paint correction. They'll have all the tools, products and knowledge to get the best out of your paintjob

Definitely understand what yall are saying:thanks:

Hopefully they can make the best of the paint i got right now and i can just paint the ugly grey skirts & bumpers:flamethro

Otherwise i guess i will have to get the car sprayed

get it polished. Find a friend that knows what they're doing.

here is my 'detail' thread from a friend. Cost me $150 IIRC but he taught me how to do it so now I DImY.

THe technical term you want to do is a 'paint correction'
You can either ask a pro to do it, or google that term to figure out what is required.
