So, I'm trying to figure out the reasoning behind this (if there is any at all) and I'm hoping someone might have an answer! I live in Florida, my occupancy sensor mat went out in December. It's now starting to get in to the 70's 80's here which, with the sun full blast, is pretty hot. Today, I got in my car after it was baking in the sun all day in the school parking lot (in the very back of course). Turned it on, and the fault codes for the mat are gone and I have a perfectly clean dash. I run two errands, get back in the car each time and start the car up, and no errors. Keep in mind they were in hot parking lots each time. This is about the 4th time the errors have been cleared when it's hot, and the only reason I associate the two is because when I get in and realize how hot it is in the car I turn it on for AC and the faults aren't there. In the past, after I've gone home with the faults gone and parked it in the garage, I turn it on and the faults come back later that or the next day. There's never anything in the passenger seat either. Is there ANY way heat/cold and the passenger mat effect each other? If a mat is completely defective, will it operate on and off like this? Can I reset the mat? I've asked about the mat before but I'm still not quite sure.
