Hello everyone,
I am posting this here because I need suggestions. I damaged my front bumper (2009 335i coupe, s package) and I am wondering whether I can patch it (as in hide) with adhesive splitters or should I replace the bumper completely? If so, do you guys know any good places in northern/central NJ that will do it and not rip me off? Thanks!

ebay? get some carbon fiber splitters
keep the original bumper, original paint, just put some splitters. this way when you go sell it, no one will say that car has been repaired/wrecked, nor will they see the damage. repainted bumper will depreciate value.

The bottom of my front bumpers were pretty scratched up from the original owner. I bought a set of splitters from jbspeed.com. $250 shipped. Took 4 days from taiwan to n.j. 2 bolts and double sided tape is all it took. It used the existing bolt holes on the underside of the bumper. Laughable about how quick it was to install. My friends thought i either bought a new bumper or had it repainted

Unless the vehicle is repaired using an insurance claim, it's doubtful there would ever be a record of any bumper repair/replacement, other than at the facility that performed the repair.
New cars have dents and dings repaired all the time (incurred during delivery) by the dealership before ever seeing the sales lot, all performed by professional repair shops, and they never show up on sites such as Carfax, etc.
I've personally had experiences where I've had dings repaired, a rear quarter-panel repainted, and one bumper cover replaced/repainted, and I've yet to see any of the work show up on any accident reporting service. Of course, I paid "out of pocket" for the repairs.
If the work is done professionally, and its a minor repair, its doubtful it would have any effect on the value of the vehicle at resale time. BMW's returned after lease periods commonly have the front bumper cover repainted to fix small chips due to normal wear & tear on a car.
Think about it... Does a car decrease in value if the windshield gets replaced? Only in a select few buyers minds.

This doesnt make sense. If you add these spoilers are these more vulnerable than the OEM spoiler as these are stuck on top of the OEM spoiler. So you still have scratched up front spoilers?

Thank you Normal for your riveting tale. If you want to talk about not making sense, and in bold 24pt font, go ahead and look at your post.
