So my father in-law offered to help me do somewhat of an overhaul on my 98 328ic last week while I was on the road working.
The process required him to remove the intake manifold which was a good thing since the 1/4" vacuum tubes turned out to be shit.
Now I am back and he is gone. I can not find a plug and a hose to save my life! And it's all that's holding me back from finishing this today!
Please help me find out where to retrace to find:

First pic is your purge valve second pic I can't tell what you are pointing to or what the issue is.

The second pic is the plug at the end of the fuel rail.
Where is the other end of the purge valve? I am assuming there is a hose to connect this end to the other side.

Same thing with the fuel rail. I can't find a unused plug anywhere. So I am thinking it can be traced from where it starts. But done know where that is

The plug for the fuel rail has to be there. It's part of the engine harness. It's not going anywhere. The hose for the purge valve is about the size of your index/pointing finger. That one may be harder to find but it's in there. Get a bright light and start digging.

Where would I find the engine harness under the hood?

You honestly don't know where the engine wire harness is?

What I really need is a picture of a fuel rail assembled so I can see the 2 plugs at the front of the rail. And right now I am feeling like I am going insane.

What do you mean? I feel like a dog chasing his tail right now. Like maybe there are 2 identical male plugs and only one female between them...

Can someone please take a look at their M52 and let me know if this is plugged into a mounted line or a loose one. If possible tell me what it is running from.

That is bitter sweet. Thank you for that. Problem is that I had a different plug ran there.
Now I have a different plug with no home...

Dyslexia and those don't work so well. I hate to say spell it out for me but yeah... I already feel like a retard... And can't find any open plugs so yes please make me feel better by telling me the actual names please.
For the record when I do anything like this I take pictures and label everything as I go.
SO I DON'T HAVE TO GO. THROUGH THIS CRAP! Ahhh!
Sorry the person I want to yell at isn't here. I appreciate your support man

Intake temp sensor plugged in?
Should be a plug at the bottom of the oil filter housing as well.

These pretty much cover it.
Minus oil res
Starter
And 2 connected plugs under the manifold

Okay I have all that worked out. The random cable connected to the bottom of the manifold. Fairly easy to get to if you remove the alternator cooler vent.
Something not mentioned on Bentley or anywhere I can find is torque sequence for the intake manifold. I am sure it shouldn't just be torqued randomly... Anybody have real quick?

This is what I do. I think I looked it up many moons ago. It may not be the proper way but I have not ever had a problem.

Since this is what you do. Lets purpose something...
If you were installing a driveshaft that had already been removed, you saw the marks for the front and back half of the shaft were marked and put back together properly,
The guibo has a mark connecting it to the driveshaft,( not sure which way should go forward though.)
BUT there is no mark connecting the guibo to the tranny flanges or the shaft to the dif (which may not matter...? I think)
How would you go about putting those peaces together right the first time?
