Yesterday I got my M5 Rear Bumper (Umnitza) and Remus Exhaust (Bavauto)
installed. I love it!

It's quiet inside the cabin of the E39 and has that refined growl at
idle and sounds throaty when revving. I've also noticed an increase in
horsepower as well as a slight tick upwards in MPG's. In addition,
backpressure is noticeably reduced. :redspot

One of my best mods to date!:alright

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I think you are in the honeymoon phase right now. I doubt you gained any horsepower, or MPGs, unless you got headers but it doesn't sound like you did. Prove me wrong and post some numbers if you think I'm wrong!

Any side shots of the bumper. How is the fit?

Well, this is one aspect of the purchase I'm not 100% satisfied with Umnitza on. They told me they had no PP bumpers in stock when I ordered (I knew with PP I'd have a gap). They said they only had ABS. So they offered the ABS to me cheaper. But this bumper has gaps where it meets the side fenders. I sent them an email about this with pictures and they have yet to respond.

Well I've owned this car for 9 years and I can tell you THERE IS a noticeable difference both in power, backpressure reduction, and MPG's...albeit slight.

Very nice. Did you have to cut the diffuser to make the exhaust fit? How far past the diffuser are the tips sticking out?

Not sure. My Indie Mechanic did the install. I would guess the tips are sticking out about 1.5 - 2inches maybe...

Yeah the exhaust seems to be tilted to the left, but it's your car so if you like it then we love it! :buttrock

Bumper makes the car look SO much better btw.

You know that with a loss in back pressure that usually can lead to loss of torque right? That's why i am wondering how you noticed the definite decrease in back pressure.

Perhaps what I think is back pressure really isn't?? I just know that since I've had the car whenever I slow down I would feel like a slight shudder as if there was built up pressure someplace that couldn't escape. Since this install it has greatly reduced...almost disappearing all together.

As far as torque and power, the car to me feels like it has increased slightly. Definitely not lost anything.

Thanks man! I love the look so much! I've gotten lots of compliments already from my coworkers and friends.

Remus mufflers are the best sounding things I've heard on E39's..... I WILL have one on my car at one point.
