View Full Version : e36 1995 expasion tank coolant level PLUG

Hi, i need some help here. I have a e36is 1995, my coolant level plastic plug in expasion tank is broke, this plug have 2 pins, one cable is brown with white stripe and the other one is brown, now i dont know if the pin with the brown cable go in the rigth or left side in the sensor, please help. Thanks

Pics? I just redid my coolant system so I can help ya. Dont know what "plug" you are talking about. Sounds like the level sensor. If that thing is shot you just should be getting faulty or no warnings on coolant level in your message center. the fix is easy but I reco replacing the whole expansion due to age. If you are cheap just the sensor.

It doesn't matter. Either way will work.

Doesn't the harness only fit on one way/

Yes it does but.....if that connector is damaged you can connect the wires directly to the sensor pins. I had to do this on my old coupe. In that case it doesn't matter which wire goes to which pin. It will work either way.
