Flashlight adapter?

Quick question: Do e36's have the same flashlight adapter as the later models? Theres definitely a power source on the left side of my glovebox, but the dealer adapters say it doesnt fit our cars. Having another power source would be great.

E36 glove box had the pins and the E46 up have the sockets. Much safer against accidental shorts. The E36 adapter seem to be sold out for a few years now. You might see a used one on ebay it sb white. Some have converted the flashlight to a spare socket.
