154K on the odo. Entire cooling system was replaced at 100K. Opened the cap and sure enough there wasn't much coolant. Refilled it and went my way. This was Saturday afternoon. Drove it out this morning, and the light came back on twice. No overheating, needle stayed at the 12 o'clock position. Any reason why this would be happening?

Any suggestions on where leaks are most likely? Don't see how either, considering the hoses were also replaced.

Edit: 2001 or '02 525i.

Just FYI, the model and year info are no longer displayed in the header, so you might want to include some more info in the post or add the basics to your sig. It would help people be more specific in the info they provide.

Go out and take a look around the engine bay. Any coolant pooling on the ground?

wait for it to cool and re-check the level. If it is low... look for leaks, if it isn't... replace the sensor.

when you did the cooling overhaul 54k ago... did you use OEM parts? if not its quite possible you are due for another overhaul.

also, you aren't over-filling the expansion tank... are you? That is a good way to find the weakest link in the cooling system.
