Well, it's about that time again, and I have no idea what to buy. I currently run 17x8.5 SSR Comps on my M3, and I need a new set of track tires.

I used to run A032-Rs, but I think I could do better and still have the same wear life. I hoped that Michelin would come out with a 245/40 PSC, but it looks like that's not going to happen.

Anyway, my primary goal of the tires is something good for DEs, with a long wear/compound life over ultimate grip. I also need something to be ordered by next week, so I can't exactly wait any longer. Any thoughts? :help

Thanks in advance to any thoughts/recommendations.

Unless you are into this die hard, and need tires that are going to give tenths of a econd faster around a lap...consider spending $300 on the pirellis.

Otherwise, save the Money and do what most do. Victoracer V700s. At $155 a tire from TR, it can't be beat. Also try going wider since you have 8.5" wide wheels. Maybe an aggressive fender roll might be needed, but you'll be happy with the extra rubber.

Well, I tried to fit a set of PSC 255/40s, and they didn't fit for shit. I mean, they weren't even close, and that was after I beat the bloody hell out of my fenders. With that in mind, I'd like to go with something with a maximum of a 245 section width. Any other thoughts? :dunno

the kumho ecsta v700 now comes in a 245/40/17. they aren't as good as the victoracers tho. have you looked into the toyo ra-1? they have a 235/40/17 and a 255/40/17

I've heard a lot of bad things about the ecsta v700s, but I always have been curious about the Toyos. The only thing I'm hesitant about is that the Tire Rack doesn't sell them, and I have no idea where to buy them, since I'm located in central Missouri. Are there any good online retailers that stock the Toyos?

Oh, I'm also considering the 225/45 Michelin PSC...has anyone had any luck running these on 8.5" rims?
