Just noticed driving into work today that the light for my passenger ABS is going on/off intermittently. Anyone else run into this?

You have a separate "Anti-lock Braking System" for your passenger? nice. Which package did that come in?

I'm guessing you meant the Air Bag light?....... Never had that problem, but I would check the connection under the seat, maybe it's loose or broken. Check the fuse and relay. Have the car scanned for codes, maybe? Also, the element (switch) in the seat could be broken (do you have people that like to stand or kneel on the seat?) I know that's bad for seat heaters, don't know about occupancy switch.

I have a small duffel bag that I carry into work with me that I put in the passenger side seat on the way to/from work. The light constantly switches on/off. That's the only time mine does it. Its constantly on when my 47lb son sits in that seat though. And my duffel bag probably weighs 6-7 lbs.

Its so great that you mentioned that e66 because I too carry a backpack into work and didn't think much about it but this am I threw it into the back seat. Then I decided to check the manual (go figure) and it states

Automatic deactivation of the front
passenger airbags

An analysis of the impression in the front passenger
seat cushion determines whether and
how the seat is occupied. The front and side airbags
for the front passenger are activated or
deactivated by the system accordingly.
The indicator lamp above the interior
rearview mirror shows the current status
of the front passenger airbags, deactivated or
activated, refer to Status of front passenger airbags

the full context is on page 95/96 of the manual. Pretty interesting I had no idea.
