I'm new the the Cooper S scene, selling my E36 and hoping to get an 05 or 06 Cooper S. I've been cruising all the websites and thought I had it down as far as what I wanted. I then ran across an 06 with both the tach and speedo in separate pods on the steering column. The center gauge looks like a combo of gas, oil & water temp, and boost. What package does this come with?
Also, on a side note, how can I tell the car has a limited slip diff? Are all traction control cars considered to have the LSD?
Thanks

2 gauges in front of you means there's an infotainment system or nav in the car:

or standard like this:

If you want a turbo look for an '07 and up. If you want the supercharger ones, I think an '06 is the best year since they had the manual trans issues worked out.

The gauges in the center location in place of the speedo or nav is called the Chrono Pack.

All MINIs have some form of traction control, whether it be ASC or DSC.
You can find out if the car LSD by doing a little burnout in the dirt, or by giving the last 7 of your VIN to the dealer. If you have the car on a lift, the label for the LSD 6-speed says "BKL".
