What kind of tranny?

Does anyone noes what kind of transmission they put in 1999 540it wagon? Is it same as they use in 528 series like 4L30E ? Or something else? Thanks! I'm loking to get one with 112k miles on it. Any advice will be appreciated!

It's a 5hp24, made by zf, not gm.

ZF is the company that makes the transmission. Google 5hp24 and BMW. It is fundamentally a good box, but people tend not to service them. Results could be mixed given the age and mileage you are looking at.
