so quick question..I have a 95 vert and it has a skid plate under the engine instead of an xbrace..is there a good reason to pull that out and put the xbrace instead?? weight or better design for both intended engineering purposes...what do you all say?? And if you say xbrace does my car have the right mounting studs already for the xbrace??

sorry guys..found my answer...

I don't think a skid plate is enough to keep the frame from flexing. I drove my vert without the x-brace once. I substituted the standard 318is bar-like brace and you can feel the car bend in a 25 mile/ hr right turn. Yes, the mounting holes should be on the engine support frame. You will need to check if you have intact nutserts installed.

I changed my plate for a brace (I had a 318iC with the brace so I swapped them when I sold the 318.) Anyway the brace is lighter, and your car will have the holes you need already (the plate bolts to the same holes.)
