Had DIS for a few years and use it with one of Pfister's ADS kits. With the exception of an inability to read the ABS module, it has worked fine. I can get a live data reading from the DME perfectly well if the engine is off. But as soon as I start it, data transmission is disturbed. The system keeps trying to remake the connection but doesnt quite make it. Turn the engine off and I am in business again. Appreciate any hints

Me too! Really annoying as everything else seems to work - INPA and DIS. But I want to run a Vanos test and at the start of the test, it gives instruction to turn engine one and wait for temps to come up. As soon as I turn the engine on, I get the data transmission disturbed message :(

Any ideas?

Yep, I'm seen it on some MS41's (323i/328i etc)
The worst part is it can make my laptop hang until the lead is unplugged.

I assume it's either a wiring problem somewhere, or a faulty module that jams up the K line.
If I get a chance, I'll see if other leads or kit is affected, which will narrow it down to either a problem car, or a lead that is struggling with noise reduction or rejection.

Same problem with my M73 engine DME's using DIS.

I have the same issue using ISTA/D VM with ICOM Emulator VM. Did you ever get it resolved?

Double check that all your antivirus software and firewalls are disabled. Some cars suffer from interference caused by electrical noise from the ABS system, BMW addressed this on later cars with an earth, which I believe is connected somewhere between the chassis and one of the front wheel sensors.
