Summer will be here in 3 months, it's about time to start thinking summer tires for my E36. I've never purcashed summer tires for a RWD. I've done some research but haven't found the tire for me. I need a tire that can drive on a dirt road which at some points could be wet. But also preform well enough to enjoy my car if I brought it to the track on wet or dry pavement. Daily driveabilty for me is my main concern along with price. Basically, a high performance trackable all season tire. Is there such tire? I've got R888's on my S4, I do like them but that is on an AWD that weighs much more.

Just get a nice set of street tires, don't worry about wet dirt roads, unless your planning on rally racing your bmw on dirt roads. It should not be much of a concern for you

But the key is, what's a nice set of street tires? I figured i'd try and get a nice set... then i figured i'd try and get street tires.
I am slightly worried about living on top of a mountain.I won't drive it in the worse conditions no, but it does get greasy, so I would not imagine r888s would give me enough traction as with Quattro they are just enough. I spin quite often. I do know with my E30 that basic all seasons were able to do the job. But then again those tires were more responceive on my neighbor's lawn then on the road.
Bridgestone Potenzas? I know they are typical on Subarus, they work for them. I might be over thinking, but tires aren't something you just return...
