Damn that M3 was moving. Any specs available on the car besides hpf stage 3?

Wow! Hpf sure does put out some mean bmws!!
Both the vette and the Ford GT let off as the BMW started to pull on them I hate when cars do that. Atleast they realized they lost. :D

The part where the Corvette and GT40 take their feet off the go pedal is quaint.
I don't believe that either of these cars can be so easily walked away from.

That stage 3 should trap high 130's, neither the Z06 of GT are anywhere close to that. Pulls look pretty legit to me. The Vette and GT appear to lift after they were being walked, which is also a pretty common occurrence.

Both the GT40 and the Z06 are 3400#, 500/500 cars.
z06
Weight (lb) 3454
Event Performance
0-60 mph 3.9 sec[3]
0-100 mph 9.2 sec[4]
0-100-0 mph 13.56 sec[4]
1/4 Mile 11.8 sec
Skid Pad 1.03 G[4]
Top Speed 171 mph (275 km/h)
GT40
Weight (lb) 3489
hp/tq 500/550
Performance
0–60 mph (0–96 km/h): 3.2 seconds,[9] 3.6 seconds,[10] 3.7 seconds[11]
0–100 mph (0–160 km/h): 7.4 seconds[11]
0–150 mph (0–241 km/h): 16.9 seconds[12]
Standing 1/4 mile (402 m): 11.2 seconds @ 131.2 mph (211.1 km/h),[11] 11.6 seconds @ 126.2 mph (203.1 km/h),[13] 11.78 seconds @ 124.31 mph (200.06 km/h)[14]
Top speed: 211 mph (340 km/h)[15]
The advertised rwhp on pump gas of the HFP e46 M3 is 641hp (also 3400#). While a 150HP advantage is big what distance would that equate to in a 30 second 3rd gear pull? I'm pretty sure both the GT40 and Corvette have an additional aero advantage at these speed that doesn't show by just throwing out weight and power.
I wouldn't be shocked if the driver with the fastest reflexes wins in a race like this.

OK
Since everyone continues to post areo comments, I figured this fun aero calculator could/would shed some light. I found the numbers doing a quick Google search and I'm sure there are inaccuracies. I only posted to make a point. Look at the numbers... @ 140mph between the four cars. There's a 45HP difference from the most aerodynamic to the least aerodynamic, which isn't a terrible amount to overcome. A car making 50-100whp more would overcome any aerodynamic advantage. So while there are obvious aerodynamic advantages, it's not as significant as many believe, especially during a 60-130mph roll.

E30
@ 140 Calculated HP loss due to aero drag is: 126.2 horsepower.

Interesting... The Corvette isn't much better than the e46. The GT40 on the other hand is pretty darn streamlined.

Height and width (frontal area) seem to have the most significant impact. The Ford GT low...
As mentioned, I pulled the numbers quickly so I'm sure there are a few inaccuracies.

Those Z06 stat look a bit slow, and I didn't realize the GT was supposed to be that quick. 175?! Chevy says 198. Isn't the stock Z06 record a 10.9@130.xx? Not the norm, but any 'tard should be able to hit 11.5ish @ 125.

IIRC, that Z06 is SN: "vettefish" on other forums. If so, at the time, the car just had mufflers or no rear mufflers. Something along those lines.

I own an M3, a 69 Mustang fastback, and drive my mom's 6MT C5 vette quite a bit. They're great cars. But there ain't no way my mom's LS1 vette is keeping up with an LS7.

They start of the vid real nice with the sounds and view of each car, but then they don't edit in the roll speeds or anything... nonetheless that was a captivating run between those 2.
