Hi guys, haven't posted for a while, but life is full of surprises and I have found a real treaseure, 87 520i with in a very good condition for scrap money. I was wondering what are the widest possible wheels to install on the e28, with slight modifications to the wheelhousings
I am about to refurbish bbs Rs 17 inch wheels, and want to know what's the maximum widest outer rim possible
Want to go REALLY wide, without grinding too much the wheelhousings :)

BBS RS 5x120 R17 8J ET40 (all four)
installed them on the car - rears are ok, fit nicely, fronts installed with 16mm spacer, the spacer could be shaved for some 2mm max.
I am willing to install stretch tyres, so I am open for advice

the garage is messy (not mine, car is at its previous owner, and wont be moved until spring)
the car must and will be lowered of course, real jeep at this point
