I was thinking with the bigger engine compartment of the 530, either the E39 or E60 vs the 330 E46 or E90, the 5 should be more reliable, just for the fact that there is more room for heat to vacate. Making a 530 more reliable, at least engine wise.
Any thoughts

Unlikely scenario. I think that there are two Manu other factors affecting reliability.

I doubt there's any significant difference in temps ... and not like it matters if the temp of the block is 210 vs 215 degrees: we're talking metal, not cheese.

It won't make much of a difference in terms of temperature, but as far the larger engine bay, it does make it much easier to work on your car when you need to, which is a huge bonus. I always like looking under a hood and having room to put my hands in there to get to things. It makes life easier not having to take things off to get to other things.

Don't forget the same engine and drivetrain are pulling more weight which means more stress and wear. That is probably much more significant than engine bay space.
