I am new to this forum. I am on my second 740. I removed the cluster from the old one ('97 387,000 miles) before it got taken away. I want install it in my new car ('00 168,000 miles).
My question is the swap as simple as:

Hooking up NCS Expert.
Selecting the IKE as the Process ECU.
CODIERDATEN_LESEN.
Swapping the clusters.
ZCS_SCHREIBEN.
FGNR_SCHREIBEN.
SG_CODIERIEN

How can I get the correct mileage (168,000) on the replacement cluster?
Will the mileage on the LCM (168,000) get overwritten by the higher mileage (387,000) on the replacement cluster?
I have read Revtor's "NCS Dummy - Taking the expert out of NCS Expert" which is very helpful.
Thanks.

Did you finally get this answered?

I have yet to find out if NCS can simply code your VIN into a replacement cluster.
I could care less about mileage...I just want my DSC to stay functional.

Please update, and thanks.
