Been using the bimmerforums for my '92 735i but my wifes '04 MINI Cooper is now starting to give us problems. Just today for example she phoned me from up north to say she couldn't get the car out of park (automatic trany). Luckily, my diagnostic was right. She had encountered deep fluffy snow going in the driveway just before turning the car off. I told her to put a blanket over the hood, start the car and let it run for 30minutes or so with the heater on high. Sure enough the linkage had frozen when the snow melted from the warm car yesterday and then re-frozen over night.
Wish all fixes where that simple.
There are some dash lights that won't go out. The car runs fine but something must be amiss.
Is there more information, say at a MINI forum or something?
Thanx for any info

Well, we can help; you just need to provide more specific info on what you're looking for.
What dash lights are illuminated?
Have you hooked up a MINI-approved scanner to see what the faults are?

When you have a repair that costs $0, you're doing good there. Is your wife actually driving the Mini is the snow?

Oops, sorry about that. I was cooking a roast and it was done while I was writing the original thread.
Yes we are driving it in the snow this year. It's a 2004 and only has 95,000k on it. It's spoiled cause it usually spent the winter indoors and heated. I was going to include a couple of pictures but can't figure out how to add them. Can you tell me how please?
The 3 lights on the dash are: ABS; the half circle with the ! in it and the tire pressure light. The tire one started when we put snow tires on it (different rims) and won't clear even though the pressures are correct (even tried incorrect pressures). We have had the snows on before, got this light but it cleared when the button was pushed. Same thing when we switched back to summer tires (it cleared when pushed)
Just did the rear brake pads last summer but the fronts appeared to be fine. Even so maybe the other two lights are if the front brakes do need doing??
Any suggestions on the ABS light?
Thanx
